Daniels Silverman

Although widely regarded as one of the top collection and credit management companies in the UK, Daniels Silverman knew that resting on its laurels was not an option.  Once the business had identified the need for strategic marketing and PR, it set its sights on graduate talent to bring a fresh and innovative approach.

With over 16 years as a market leader in the debt recovery industry, the company works on the principle of “Excellence through Efficiency”. Firmly committed to providing a first class credit management and debt recovery service, ensuring maximum recovery success, it has invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology to give clients 24-7 access to the status of their debt recovery cases.

Into this busy, fast-paced arena arrived two hard working, fast thinking graduates, Amanda Childs and Francesca Loughlin, recruited with the help of Graduate to Merseyside as PR & Marketing Assistant and Sales & Marketing Executive respectively.  They will be marketing the full range of credit management services to existing and prospective clients and so far the signs are good.  Subject to intensive in-house training in all aspects of credit control and debt recovery, they have been tasked with identifying suitable databases of prospective clients and with marketing the full range of services to the SME and corporate market, as well as assisting the sales manager with the general day-to-day running of the sales department.

Carole Hughes, Managing Director, enthused: “We realised it was a tough world out there for graduates in a diminishing job market.  We wanted to play our part in giving local graduates a foothold on the career ladder and an opportunity to use the skills learned whilst at university. In a few short weeks Amanda and Francesca have made a significant impact on the business.”

Carole believed the business needed the creativity, ideas and design skills that the graduates acquired during their degrees, pointing out that Amanda and Francesca had brought a “breath of fresh air” to the business. Amanda has already revamped much of the company’s marketing literature and is working closely with the IT team on the visual side of the website, making use of the business skills acquired during her business degree and associated work experience for Google. Francesca has brought a fresh approach to selling to SMEs by looking at different unique selling points and benefits such as increased cash flow and reduced bad debt provision.

Amanda added: “In the current climate, where jobs are so hard to come by, we were so grateful for the ongoing support and constant contact with Graduate to Merseyside, especially during the recruitment with Daniels Silverman. We are just pleased to finally be getting the experience we need, and to utilise the skills we gained from our degrees. We’ve been given real responsibility and can influence how the business is marketed.”

Carole Hughes is glowing of the Graduate to Merseyside service: “I would recommend the services of Graduate to Merseyside to any business.  New young talent helps to drive a business forward and keep it fresh and up to date with latest trends and technologies and the team at Graduate to Merseyside found us the perfect match.”
