Liverpool Science Park

Liverpool based Liverpool Science Park, a business management facility; recruits Ancient History and Archaeology graduate Philippa Gray and E-Business graduate Glen Jones, both from University of Liverpool.

Liverpool Science Park

At the heart of Liverpool’s knowledge quarter, Liverpool Science Park (LSP) is a hub of technology and innovation, providing office space and laboratories to high-tech businesses.  The 24/7 facility demands a highly committed, flexible and adaptable workforce. With its third building on the way in 2013, each member the team of 12 needs to react and respond to the growing demands of innovation-led business and play a part in presenting the park to stakeholders, prospective tenants and inward investors.

So when operational requirements changed earlier this year, Chief Executive Chris Musson needed to find staff and he needed to act fast.  Graduate to Merseyside had previously met LSP to assess its growth strategy and mitigate any risk, and knew exactly where to start when the opportunity arose, recruiting University of Liverpool graduates Philippa Gray (BA Hons Ancient History and Archaeology) and Glen Jones (BSc E-Business).

The pair offered an optimal mix of interpersonal and technical skills to support the general running of the Park, with Glen and Philippa providing operational support to Sarah Gudgeon, Operations Manager.

Chris Musson is full of praise for the service: “I’m a huge advocate of Graduate to Merseyside. I’d met them previously and was aware of the support they’d given a number of our tenant businesses, offering high calibre graduates from both universities so it was an obvious choice when our time came.  They are totally business-focused with a minimum of bureaucracy, enabling them to offer pace and quality. And at no cost to me, why would I go elsewhere?”

Philippa Gray added: “The whole process from being told about the position to being offered the job was straightforward.  I’m now really looking forward to getting my teeth into the role and representing such an exciting organisation.”
